The introduction & rapid development of generative AI has helped accelerate the AI trend. AI has an impact on all areas of work. HR is particularly affected by potential changes. As part of my keynote for a large charity organisation, we were able to address the question of how AI is changing HR, what benefits it offers & what challenges it brings. Particularly in light of the AI Act, HR departments that use or want to use AI applications must fulfil a number of obligations set out in the AI Act. After an overview of the EU's risk-based approach, the participants were able to draw an initial conclusion: Organisations should check at an early stage which systems are being used & what action needs to be taken as a result. Timely & targeted risk management is essential. It not only ensures greater trust & fewer liability issues, but also better quality & performance of AI applications.
