More and more public administrations are already using AI models to optimise processes and make services more user-friendly. But this also raises questions: How to deal with the risks? The AI Act provides a legal framework for managing these risks in practice. The focus is on ethical risk management. At the CityLAB Berlin Summer Conference 2024, my colleague Matthieu Binder from the think tank iRights.Lab and I presented a directly applicable reflection process and discussed its relevance for decisions and the use of AI systems in public administrations with the audience.
